WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT NINGALOO REEF?

There is no single best month for everything at Ningaloo.

The timing of your visit should depend on what you most want to experience.

❖ Whale sharks: generally March to July
❖ Humpback whales: generally July to November
❖ Manta rays: possible year-round, with seasonal variations
❖ Turtles: seasonal nesting and hatching periods
❖ Snorkelling: available throughout the year, subject to conditions

If swimming with whale sharks is your priority, plan around the whale shark season rather than simply choosing the most convenient time to visit Western Australia.

If whales are your priority, a later visit can be more appropriate.

A Ningaloo holiday works particularly well as part of a broader Western Australian itinerary.
