Bruny Island is an hour's drive from Hobart and a draw card for so many travellers that visit Tasmania. This island is set off by a long and narrow isthmus, from the larger island. It is a haven of wildlife and stunning cliff formations that bring peace and tranquility to this remote and stunning landscape. Explore the amazing bushwalks, coastal tracks or beach strolls. Or take your own picnic for a self-guided walk or join an island walking tour.
For the more adventurous, there are coastline eco cruises, as well as sail boat, or kayak tours. And if you are looking for wildlife, then Bruny Island is the place to visit. It is home to fur seals, fairy penguins, albatross, wedge tailed eagles, white wallabies and many endemic species.
In addition to stunning scenery, Bruny Island is a foodies paradise. Hunt and gather the islands’ delicious local produce at the farmgate and cellar doors. The island showcases a variety of artisan cheese, oysters, seafood, berries, fudge, wine, whisky, gin, beer and a selection of cafes and restaurants.
At BlueSun Travel, we offer a huge range of Bruny Island tours and award-winning cruises that are constantly being added.
