Cruise to superb, 7km-long Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. From the beach’s northern end, a leisurely 1.3km-return guided hike to Hill Inlet lookout follows a path walked by the Whitsundays’ traditional owners, the Ngaro people. Back at Whitehaven’s southern end, swim or relax on the sand, or tackle the stairs to the Whitehaven Beach Lookout and view the length of Whitehaven Beach. A delicious gourmet burger is waiting for you back on the Whitehaven sand.

From Hamilton Island, cruise to Airlie Beach on the mainland. A 40-minute coach ride takes you through sugarcane plantations to the muddy banks of the Proserpine River. From here, a friendly ranger takes you croc-spotting in a large, secure, flat-bottom vessel. The tour continues to the spectacular Goorganga Wetlands, where you’ll ride on an open-air tractor train and spy birds, wallabies and snakes. Enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch, plus traditional billy tea and damper for afternoon tea.

On Hamilton Island, hop-on/hop-off shuttle buses take you past key attractions, scenic lookouts and holiday accommodation. Cool-off in the main pool with its swim-up bar, visit iconic Catseye Beach or browse the waterfront shops and galleries before lunch at Marina Tavern. You’ll also have the chance to explore Whitehaven Beach, where you can wander along the 7km shoreline – beachcombing, bushwalking and wading in the warm, crystal-clear water.

Cruise to Hamilton Island from Airlie Beach, then board the Links transfer vessel for the 10-minute hop across to Hamilton Island Golf Course on Dent Island. Green fees include an electric golf buggy fitted with a GPS rangefinder. After your round, enjoy drinks or a long lunch in the Chris Beckingham-designed Clubhouse, also with magnificent Whitsundays views. There are locker rooms and a well-stocked pro shop on site. Return to Hamilton Island and the mainland after lunch.
